Culture Lab Detroit has launched a pop-up shop inside Nora in Detroit’s Midtown district featuring products produced by internationally renowned designers in collaboration with Detroit artists and businesses.

“Culture Lab Detroit is a platform for connectivity,” says Jane Schulak, founder of Culture Lab Detroit. “By inviting world-renowned installation artist and event designer David Stark to create the pop-up at Nora and filling it with objects created by international designers partnering with local artists and businesses, Culture Lab Detroit’s big picture goal of harnessing the power of design and collaboration to stimulate local business is happening in real time.”

Schulak says products include vases, planters, lighting, and gardening overalls created by international and local artists. She says David Stark created a store-within-store concept with gold metallic accents and raw straw bales from local Detroit farms.

Items in the collection range from $65 to $2,000 and will be available at Nora from Oct. 30 to Nov. 15.

Nora has also commissioned additional metro Detroit artisans to create more than a dozen home products for the pop-up shop, including local furniture makers Abir Ali and Andre Sandifer’s collection of trays made of walnut and maple. Nora also has planned several artist talk backs to coincide with the pop-up.
