STERLING HEIGHTS — UHY LLP and UHY Cares Michigan is partnering with Playworks, a local nonprofit that helps kids and refurbishing school yards, to improve the playgound at Academy of the Americas School in Detroit.
At least 50 volunteers including UHY employees, their families and friends will be spending May 17 at the school on Kronkel to help paint games and graphics on concrete, as well as clean up the playground and surrounding park area.
“There’s nothing more satisfying than helping others”, said Tony Frabotta, partner in charge of UHY LLP and chief executive officer of UHY Advisors MI Inc. “We’re always brainstorming new ways to give back to the communities in which we work and selecting Detroit, who’s right in our backyard, was a no-brainer. Kids growing up in any area need a safe environment to build the skills needed to succeed in the classroom, community and future workplace. Teaming up with Playworks, we are going to help make that happen.”
UHY LLP, a certified public accounting firm, operates its charitable giving activities through UHY Cares, an independent nonprofit organization.
