SOUTHFIELD — Southfield-based Farbman Group, a leading full-service real estate company, announced today that Andrew Gutman, left, chief financial officer, has been promoted to president and Michael Kalil, below right, chief operating officer, has assumed responsibility for the company’s brokerage division, NAI Farbman.

“During the past five years, while much of the real estate industry concentrated on methods of survival, Farbman Group has been laser focused on the future,” said Andrew V. Farbman, CEO. “We are now poised to further implement our strategic vision with a leadership team that will empower our growth trajectory for many years to come.”

Gutman has been with Farbman Group for more than 18 years, during which time he has been responsible for all aspects of property management accounting, corporate accounting, financial services, asset management, information technologies, human resources and marketing. Gutman earned a degree in accounting from Michigan State University and currently serves as the vice chairman of the Novi Planning Commission. He serves as Chairman of the Owner’s Council for BOMA of Metropolitan Detroit. He is also involved in numerous other industry and community focused organizations.

“Andy has been a critical part of our team and has continued to excel as one of the best chief financial officers in the business; his dedication and leadership abilities make him a natural fit to assume the role of president of Farbman Group,”  Farbman said.

Kalil has been instrumental in the operation and growth of Farbman Group for more than 20 years. He currently sits on the board and executive committee of the Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion of Michigan and is a board member of the Lebanese Chamber of Commerce.

“Michael’s dynamic skill sets in all facets of commercial real estate make him the perfect person to assume the responsibility of NAI Farbman’s brokerage division,” Farbman said. Kalil holds a master’s degree in finance from Walsh College of accountancy and business administration and a bachelor’s in finance from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
