Corewell Health, the health system formed by Spectrum Health and Beaumont Health, has named Danielle “Dani” Brown, senior vice president and chief information officer of Whirlpool Corp., as a new board member effective Jan. 1. She is one of 16 system board members helping guide the organization to achieve its mission and vision.

“We are excited for Dani to join our board and provide advice and guidance on our strategic imperative to transform health,” says Julie Fream, president and CEO, MEMA Original Equipment Suppliers and chair of the Corewell Health Board of Directors.

In her role at Whirlpool, Brown drives innovation across the family of brands, leading the global IT organization and developing a long-term view of technology’s impact on the business, translating it into a workable global IT strategy.

“Dani’s passion for health equity and serving our Michigan communities was very evident in our discussions, and I am confident that her contributions will advance our strategy,” says Tina Freese Decker, president and CEO of Corewell Health. “We are thrilled Dani is joining our board.”

She received her MBA from Drexel University and another master’s degree from Penn State University.

“It is an incredible privilege to join Corewell Health’s board of directors during such an exciting time for the system,” says Brown. “I am excited to work with this excellent team and bring my technology and IT experience to bear to help advance the availability and quality of affordable health services.”
