Community Foundation Names New Program Associate

DETROIT — The Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan has named Surabhi Pandit as a program associate.

Pandit is responsible for a wide range of support for program staff, including research, grant reviews, grant monitoring and assessment activities, program development, and educational programs.

The Southfield resident comes to the Community Foundation from the Council of Michigan Foundations, where she served as a public policy fellow in government affairs and philanthropy.  Pandit also held positions within the organization as a community foundation youth project coordinator and research assistant at The Detroit Initiative and peer action learning network virtual site facilitator.

Pandit holds a B.A. in sociology and south Asian studies and a Master of Social Work in social policy and evaluation in community and social systems, both from the University of Michigan. She serves on the Michigan Association of Planning Social Equity Committee and is the Michigan League for Public Policy Prosperity Coalition Convening Chair.
