Comcast has named Mikel Slater vice president of human resources for Comcast’s Heartland region, which encompasses Michigan, Indiana and Kentucky.
As a member of the region’s senior leadership team, Slater is responsible for partnering with organization leads to develop and implement the HR strategy for attracting and retaining top talent and meeting the needs of employees and the business. He is based in Plymouth.
Slater has more than 15 years of leadership experience in all facets of HR that he’s earned at several Fortune 500 companies, including Meritor and DTE Energy. Most recently, he served as vice president of human resources, Americas for Plastic Omnium’s INERGY Automotive Systems division, a leading global designer and manufacturer of automotive fuel systems in New Boston.
A resident of Troy, Slater earned a bachelor’s in Interpersonal communication from Eastern Michigan University and a master’s in human resources management from the University of Phoenix.
