April 5, 2012 — The annual Puttin’ on the Ritz auction, held exclusively at Cleary University, is set to return for 2012.
Since 1993, the university has held the benefit auction, of which all proceeds assist in the continuation of funding for student programs. In doing so, the auction gives potential attendees chances to win unique items. This year, bidders will have the opportunity to earn prizes such as a National Hockey League package, which includes Suite tickets to any 2012-2013 Red Wings game and a meet-and-greet with Pavel Datsyuk. Other items include invitations to the opening reception of the Michigan Governor’s Lansing Residence art collection, and a one-week stay at Aeolos Beach Club Resort in the island of Corfu, Greece.
In conjunction with putting on the event, Cleary University has tacked on Michigan sponsors to become involved with the yearly event. For this year, the university has announced Livonia-based manufacturing company C&B Machinery as its Top Hat sponsor, and United Bank and Trust as its Black Tie sponsor.
Continuing with the tradition of presenting a new theme for each auction, this year’s gala will be based off the classic William Shakespeare play A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
The 2012 Puttin’ on the Ritz auction will be held at Cleary University’s Johnson Center, located at 3750 Cleary Drive in Howell, on May 5 from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm.
