City Year Detroit Names New Deputy Executive Director

DETROIT — City Year Detroit has annouced the appointment of Bernadette Doré as its deputy executive director of strategic advancement. ­­

Doré comes to CYD from WorldLink Communications, where she worked as a nonprofit consultant. Over the last 15 years, she has held positions of leadership at various nonprofit organizations, including senior director of philanthropy at Gleaners Community Food Bank, vice president of development at the Beaumont Foundation, and director of major and planned gifts at the Detroit Institute of Arts. She has managed several multi-million dollar campaigns throughout the course of her career and has also created various giving programs with volunteer components over the years.

Doré received a Bachelor of Arts and juris doctor degree from the University of Detroit Mercy. During her academic career, she earned departmental honors and was a member of three national honor societies.
