Ciena Healthcare in Southfield, a national organization of skilled nursing, rehabilitation, sub-acute and assisted living services, has appointed David Parker as CEO.
Parker will oversee the management and operation of all Ciena’s facilities, which include 83 skilled nursing facilities in five states. Mohammad Qazi, president of Ciena Healthcare, will retain his role, focusing on the company’s mission, vision, and future.
“David Parker’s vast experience and expertise in the health care industry will be a tremendous asset to Ciena Healthcare, as we continue our leadership role in the industry with our resident and employee focused vision and commitment to the communities we serve,” says Qazi. “With the complexity and demands of operating a quality, multistate skilled nursing company, David’s experience will take Ciena to the next level as the preeminent, post-acute health care provider and employer in the United States.”
Parker brings 30 years of health care leadership and experience to Ciena Healthcare. He most recently served as the president of the Senior Care Division of one of the largest not-for-profit, mission-based health systems in the U.S. Parker was responsible for the leadership of 400 communities and 50,000 employees in 27 states. He also has held leadership roles in skilled nursing and rehabilitation operations and served as an Administrator at skilled nursing centers. He also is the past president of the Ohio Health Care Association and served on the CPAC Board for the American Health Care Association. Parker earned a degree in business administration from the University of Arkansas.
“It’s an honor to join the Ciena Healthcare family, a team whose mission and vision centers around unparalleled patient care and dedication to its employees,” says Parker. “The health care landscape is continually evolving, and Ciena remains at the forefront by providing unmatched post-acute health care to our residents and a leadership role in innovative facilities. I look forward to helping Ciena reach even higher levels of success for the communities we serve.”
