Children’s Hospital Foundation Names New Board Chairs

DETROIT —The board of trustees of the Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation today announced a new leadership structure, including a board chair and two vice chairs.

The board has elected Matt Friedman as chair. A trustee since 2011, Friedman most recently has served as the board’s chair of fundraising and development and chair of the foundation’s $2 Million “Dream. Hope. Discover.” Campaign. He previously served in leadership roles on the Children’s Hospital of Michigan board of trustees from 2006 through 2010. His other community involvement includes current service as a Trustee of Legacy DMC.

Friedman, of West Bloomfield, is co-founder of Tanner Friedman Strategic Communications in Farmington Hills.

The board has also elected Fred Minturn to a vice chair. A trustee since 2011, he serves as the foundation’s treasurer and chairman of its finance committee. Minturn is on the board of the Business Leaders for Michigan and has served in various publicly elected positions in the Grosse Pointes.  Minturn, of Grosse Pointe Shores, is President and CEO of MSX International, headquartered in Detroit.

The board also announced that Cynthia Ford of Grosse Pointe Farms will continue in the position of vice chair. A trustee since the foundation’s inception in 2003, she is a past board chair and is an active volunteer leader in many local, regional and national organizations.
