Charlies Spies, who works in the Washington, D.C., office of Detroit law firm Dickinson Wright, was named Republican Lawyer of the for 2023 by the board of governors of the Republican National Lawyers Association.
He was selected in recognition of his outstand professional accomplishments and years of service to the Republican Party.
“Charlies is a force in the Republican Party,” says Ronna McDaniel, chairwoman of the Republican National Committee. “His political experience, knack for policy, and legal expertise has contributed to electing countless Republicans throughout his career. I am honored to not only call Charlie a friend, but I feel blesses to work alongside him during this presidential cycle.”
Spies has been providing strategic political law counsel in Washington, D.C., and globally for two decades. Before moving to national law firms, Spies worked in the NRSC Counsel’s Office at the Federal Election Commission.
Spies received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and his law degree from the Georgetown University Law Center.
