CFA Society of Detroit Names New Executive Director

DETROIT — Michelle Doran, CMP, has been named executive director of the CFA Society of Detroit. She will continue to serve as executive director of the Michigan Association of Public Employee Retirement Systems, where she has worked since May 2002.

MAPERS is recognized as the principal educational and legislative forum for retirement system trustees, plan administrators, and financial professionals in the state of Michigan. In this capacity, Doran manages the day-to-day operations, event planning, and communications for the group. Prior to association management, she was employed as a meeting planner and group travel agent for Conlin Travel in Ann Arbor.

 Doran, of Saline, is a graduate of Michigan State University. She earned her CMP, certified meeting professional designation, from the Convention Industry Council. She is an active member of the Michigan Society of Association Executives, and has completed the MSAE Academy of Association Management course training.
