Wolverine Lake-based CAYA Smokehouse Grill, 1403 S. Commerce Rd., on Aug. 12 will host its annual Seasoned Chefs Dinner Series, featuring seven Michigan chefs.
“Each dinner we do in the series is better than the last and we have developed quite the following with food and wine aficionados throughout Michigan,” says Jeff Rose, executive chef and co-owner of CAYA. “We’re happy to be able to bring this popular dinner series back for another year.”
Participating chefs include: Jeff Rose and Chris Johnson of CAYA.; Alan Merhar of The Meeting House, (Rochester); Evans Street Station, (Tecumseh); Jay Gundy of Cork Wine Pub, (Pleasant Ridge); Eric Voigt of Big Rock Chophouse and The Reserve, (Birmingham); Derik Watson of Bistro 82, (Royal Oak); and Anthony Calabrese of Cantoro’s Trattoria, (Plymouth).
The dinner, which begins at 6 p.m., will feature fish ‘n chips with fried shrimp, spicy tomato sauce, shaved cabbage, dill tartar sauce, and beet chip; tuna tartar nachos; lamb tongue with stone fruit mostarda, pickled mustard seed, and radicchio on a crostini; chilled sweet corn soup with cashew, curry, and roasted chilies, and more.
Each chef will also prepare an additional course to be paired with wine selected by Michael Korn of Woodberry Wines.
Tickets cover the entire meal and are $126 a person. Reservations are required.
