Business law firm Butzel Long has announced Catherine M. Karol to join as Counsel in the firm’s Detroit office. Karol’s practices focus on transactional negotiations, regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and divestitures.
Karol has served as chief privacy officer for General Motors Co., where she was responsible for structuring, negotiating, drafting and reviewing agreements with other equipment manufacturers, and leading IT, OnStar, marketing, and HR teams.
While leading the GM marketing team, Karol was responsible primary legal advertising, promotional, and media-buying agency agreements/ relationships, and celebrity endorsement agreements.
Karol received degrees from the University of Notre Dame Law School and the College of New Rochelle in New York.
