Carl J. Hays was named the Detroit Golf Club’s director of golf.
Previously, Hays was at John’s Island Club in Vero Beach, Fla., where he served as the head golf professional of the west course for two years. He also served as head professional of the 36-hole north/south property for two years.
During his time at John’s Island Club, he was directly involved in renovations for both the North and West courses. He also launched a traditional caddie program.
Hays gained experience at several golf clubs in the country, including Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, N.J.; Hollywood Golf Club in Deal, N.J.; and Woodfield Country Club in Boca Raton, Fla. Hays and his wife Danielle are the parents of Luella Jayne and Carl Joseph.
