Butzel Long Adds Attorneys to Detroit Office

DETROIT — Brett J. Miller and Christina I. Nassar have been hired as attorneys by Butzel Long, and will be based in the firm’s Detroit office.

Miller, of Royal Oak, is a senior attorney who focuses his practice on labor and employment-law and fair-housing litigation. Nassar, an associate attorney, focuses her practice in the areas of automotive-litigation and insurance defense litigation.

In addition to representing clients in federal and state court venues, Miller has appeared before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Michigan Department of Civil Rights. Moreover, he has represented clients in labor arbitrations.

Miller was recognized as a Top Lawyer by DBusiness in 2014. He has published numerous articles and is a frequent speaker on labor and employment matters. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Oakland County Bar Association.

Miller earned his juris doctor, cum laude, from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, where he was a member of the Law Review and Moot Court Board of Directors.

Prior to joining Butzel Long, Nassar worked in one of Canada’s top 10 insurance defense litigation firms located in Toronto. She successfully handled and closed a number of matters on behalf of her various insurer clients. Nassar, of Plymouthy, has maintained a broad, general litigation practice that includes: tort motor vehicle claims, subrogation, property claims, product liability, and occupier’s liability claims.

She is admitted to the Michigan State Bar, Michigan State Courts, and Ontario Bar. She also is a member of the American Bar Association, Ontario Bar Association, and Canadian Defense Lawyers Association.

Nassar is a graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy, University of Windsor, and Wayne State University.
