GROSSE POINTE — Anita Shina, co-owner of Proforma Amplified, a marketing and brand management company, has been named the winner of a Stevie Award for Women in Business in the “Female Entrepreneur of the Year” category.

After serving 15 years as an attorney, Shina decided to make a career move and opened a Proforma franchise with her husband Jim Hanika in Grosse Pointe. Within the last five years Shina has been responsible for incorporating new marketing initiatives to increase brand awareness and drive the business to new levels. Shina has grown the company’s sales more than 600 percent in the last year alone. Proforma Amplified reached $1.2 million in sales in 2012.

Shina has also been awarded the Proforma Centurion Award three times for increasing her franchise’s sales by more than $100,000 year over year. She received a 2013 Innovator Award for her out-of-the-box sales strategies that have dramatically increased her business.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business are the world’s top honors for female entrepreneurs, executives and the organizations they run. All individuals and organizations worldwide are eligible to submit nominations — public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small.
