Business Attorney Rejoins Varnum's Grand Rapids Office

GRAND RAPIDS —  Business attorney Robert C. Rutgers Jr. has rejoined Varnum’s Grand Rapids office. Most recently a shareholder at Rhoades McKee PC, Rutgers formerly practiced at Varnum for several years in the mid-1990s.

Rutgers concentrates his practice in the areas of business, commercial litigation, health care, and family law. His experience includes acquisition and sale of businesses ranging from midsize to large corporations, shareholder disputes, and corporate entity formation, including complex business entity structures for multi-state clients. Rutgers is a licensed real estate broker and an experienced litigator focusing on commercial and residential construction matters and real estate title issues. In the area of health care, he is experienced in resolving contract disputes for physician groups and medical practices.

Rutgers is a member of the Economics Club of Grand Rapids and a youth sports coach. He is a Fellow of the Justice Foundation of West Michigan, which serves the community through the funding of programs that promote or provide legal services to the disadvantaged.

Rutgers received his law degree from the Marquette University Law School and holds a B.A. in Economics from Hope College.
