DETROIT — The Southwest Detroit Business Association will host its annual Community Investment Breakfast on June 19 at MotorCity Casino Hotel’s Sound Board.
Dennis W. Archer, chairman and CEO of Dennis W. Archer PLLC and former Detroit mayor will deliver opening remarks followed by a keynote address from Carol Coletta, vice president of community and national initiatives at the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. WDIV-TV (Channel 4) news anchor and award-winning journalist Guy Gordon will serve as master of ceremonies.
The annual networking event brings together hundreds of community leaders, entrepreneurs and residents to acknowledge the positive contributions made by the SDBA while celebrating the economic vitality of its business districts. This year’s breakfast theme, “An Appetite for Growth and Change,” will highlight Southwest Detroit’s competitive advantage found in the food offerings of its local small businesses. This includes hundreds of restaurants, food trucks, grocery stores, mercados, and wholesale food manufacturing facilities.
