Broderick Tower Announces April 5 Open House

2031

DETROIT– Motown Construction Partners, LLC (Motown) announced today that on Tigers Opening Day, April 5, 2012, it will host a Preview Event highlighting the dramatic transformation of the 34 story Broderick Tower, an historic landmark structure centrally located in Downtown Detroit at Grand Circus Park and Woodward Avenue in the heart of Detroit’s burgeoning sports and entertainment district.

The Opening Day Event will allow the interested public and prospective tenants to view the construction progress of this highly anticipated project, including the unveiling of a fully finished 17th floor model unit. Visitors will be able to take an open-air ride in the construction elevator on the outside of the building, walk through select floors, experience various residence floor plans and enjoy spectacular multi-directional views of Detroit and Windsor. The day will celebrate the best of what Detroit has to offer, commencing with a private 10:00am press conference and media tour before the building will open to the public at 11:00am.

In November, Motown began accepting Reservations of Interest from prospective tenants for residential units in Broderick Tower on its updated website, www.brodericktower.com, where interested parties and prospective tenants may view the layout of each unit and complete a Registration of Interest online. In March, Broderick Tower’s residential reservations exceeded 50%, surpassing projections. Reservations for the coveted residences continue to mount; 57 remain. Motown also commenced hiring the management team for Broderick Tower with the selection of Property Manager Eric Novack, former operations manager at Russell Industrial Center.

Upon completion of renovations in September 2012, Broderick Tower will house a restaurant and lounge, 3 floors of office space, and 125 apartments on floors 5 through 34. The upper ten floors are designated as “Sky Top Penthouses” featuring 33 residences from 605 square feet to 2200 square feet, upgraded amenities, a dedicated elevator and some of the highest panoramic views from a residential building in the State of Michigan.

Since the announcement of the renovation of Broderick Tower in December, 2010, interest ballooned in the historic tower as the renovation of the downtown luxury living spaces progresses. Of all reservations, penthouses were clearly the most sought after. The sky top penthouses, two story plus mezzanine units which include the large arched windows visible from the exterior, are the most expensive units and also the first reserved. Four months later, the remainder of penthouse units (floors 25 and up) are nearly all spoken for; three remain.

“We’ve gotten more inquiries about the penthouses than any other potential unit”, said Fred Beal, president of Detroit’s JC Beal Construction, Inc., and one of the partners in the $53 million redevelopment of the 34-story Broderick Tower at Grand Circus Park.

A number of units beneath the 25th floor remain available, on numerous levels and with a variety of floor plans and views. In unit laundry, a fitness facility and reserved parking will be offered. All living space images, floor plans and information are available to view on Broderick Tower’s website.

The exterior renovation is transforming Broderick Tower to the glory and grandeur of its unveiling in 1928 when it first pierced the skyline of Detroit. The existing façade of the building is being extensively cleaned and restored. Exterior lighting will be added to highlight the terra cotta and stone details on the façade as well as the crown at the top of the building. The marriage of old and new Detroit represented in the renovation of Broderick Tower catalyze the regenerative enthusiasm swelling in the Detroit community among grass roots factions and corporations alike.

Broderick Tower, designed with neoclassical architecture, Chicago school and Beaux-Arts design, was originally constructed as the Eaton Tower under the direction of famed architect Louis Kamper. When completed in 1928, it became one of Detroit’s most magnificent structures and the second tallest skyscraper in Michigan.

Reservations for tours on April 5th between 11:00am and 5:00pm are preferred and can be made via phone or email.
