Brixmor Property Group Names VP of Redevelopment

 Mark Salma has been named as vice president of redevelopment for Brixmor Property Group, the owner and operator of  grocery-anchored community and neighborhood shopping centers, in the company’s Farmington office.

Salma has almost three decades of experience in commercial real estate, with deep grocery and shopping center industry expertise. In his role, he will focus on Brixmor’s anchor space repositioning projects in the north region with the goal of driving higher sales, traffic, and small shop leasing at the property level.

Salma joins Brixmor from the Kroger Co., where he was responsible for acquisitions, development and redevelopment of retail grocery stores and retail fuel stations throughout Illinois and Indiana. He previously worked as the director of real estate at Ralph’s Grocery Co., where he handled acquisitions, development and redevelopment of retail grocery stores and warehouse format stores throughout Northern California and Los Angeles. He also held roles at Bixby Land Co., Foodmaker Inc. and The Vons Companies.

He received a Bachelor of Science in business administration from California State University, Northridge and a Professional Designation in Investment Real Estate from the University of California, Los Angeles.
