Brigeth Brookins is the Detroit Athletic Club’s new assistant general manager and will oversee most clubhouse operations.

“Bri’s education, skills, and background will serve the DAC and its membership well,” says
Charles Johnson, executive manager and CEO of the DAC. “She is a strong, natural leader with incredible intuition for quality, service, and hospitality.”

Brookins joins the DAC team after spending the last six years with The Four Seasons Resort in Hualalai, Hawaii, including the last two as its director of food and beverage. Before that, she spent seven years with the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas where she was an integral part of opening one of the most expensive hotels ever built.

Some of Brookins’ earliest experience in hospitality was in room service at the Dearborn Inn, an Albert Kahn-designed property—as is the DAC—and National Historic Landmark in Dearborn. Her first job was as a historical presenter at Greenfield Village, part of The Henry Ford, also in Dearborn, where she demonstrated colonial cooking methods. She also competed on the Food Network TV show Chopped in 2012.

“I’m humbled by the opportunity to come home and help lead staff and operations at the DAC,” says Brookins. “As America’s number one Athletic Club, the DAC continues to be a benchmark in the hospitality industry and I’m excited to be part of that.”

Brookins is a native of metro Detroit and earned a Bachelor of Art degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and a Master of Science in management, strategy, and leadership from Michigan State University in East Lansing. She is currently working on a Ph.D. in organizational development and leadership from the University of Arizona global campus.
