BEVERLY HILLS — Books-A-Million, Inc. (NASDAQ/NM:BAMM) is opening the doors of its new store in Beverly Hills on Saturday at The Corners Shopping Center, in a location formerly occupied by Borders. This will be Books-A-Million’s fourth store in Michigan. Members of the Beverly Hills Village Council and the Birmingham Bloomfield Chamber welcomed the new bookstore to the community with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
“We are excited to open a location in Beverly Hills,” said Terrance G. Finley, CEO and president. “This will be a community book store, offering the best in books, toys, tech and more.”
Customers can tour the new 14,484 square foot location from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday during a day of grand opening events that will include kids’ activities, games, food and giveaways.
“Sales trends from our stores across the country and booksamillion.com have re-energized our focus on the children’s category and prompted the inclusion of more kid-centered merchandise,” said Finley. “Kids-A-Million, a feature of our Beverly Hills store, will help inspire the next generation as they create, play, and learn.”
The Beverly Hills store will be the second Kids-A-Million location in the country and will feature children’s books, learning resources from Leap Frog as well as toys and games that appeal to children, parents, teachers and librarians.
“Laurencelle Properties is excited to have a book store back in Beverly Hills. The interior of the store is brand new and looks fantastic,” said Charles Laurencelle, president of Laurencelle Properties. “This gives our community an opportunity to go back into their local bookstore and touch, feel and browse all kinds of reading materials on a national scale. We wish Books-A-Million the best of luck.”
