David W. Barton, an attorney at Bodman PLC, has been named co-chair of the State Bar of Michigan Business Law Section’s Financial Institutions Committee.
Barton, who practices in the firm’s banking and business practice groups in Cheboygan, represents financial institutions in corporate law and governance, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory affairs, and general banking law matters. He serves as corporate counsel to many community banks throughout the state of Michigan.
The Financial Institutions Committee focuses on legislative, regulatory, and judicial developments and issues of interest to banks and other financial institutions.
Barton, of Indian River, earned his Bachelor of Science from Bowling Green State University and his juris doctor from the University of Toledo College of Law.
