Mary Petrovich has joined Plymouth-based Traxen’s board of directors as chairman. The startup focuses on trucking technology. Bill Gryzenia was also named adviser to the board.

“We are incredibly pleased to have Mary and Bill playing integral roles in our technology company as we cruise forward with our pilot phase,” says Ali Maleki, founder and CEO. “I know their comprehensive backgrounds and connectivity to the industry will be key assets to Traxen’s future success.”

Petrovich is a senior executive at the Carlyle Group and chairman of DealerShop. She has overseen the successful private equity exits of three companies in the on- and off-highway markets. Previously, she served as executive chairman of AxleTech, where she helped shape the company’s electric vehicle strategy for the truck and bus markets. She is also former president of Dura Automotive’s driver controls unit and served in roles at AlliedSignal, Chrysler, and General Motors Co.

Boards Petrovich serves on include United Road, Woodward Inc., and Xeeva Software.

Gryzenia serves as president and CEO of DealerShop. He has expertise in advanced driveline technologies and was previously CEO of AxleTech, vice president and general manager of Dana Inc.’s global on- and off-highway aftermarket business, director of business development with Apexon, and Harnischfeger Corp. He is also a member of the Syncreon board.

“The Traxen team has worked tirelessly to develop amazing technology that will save truck fleets millions of dollars in fuel costs upon its launch,” says Petrovich. “I look forward to working with the board to help guide Traxen as it moves to commercialize its innovation and enters a strong growth phase.”
