DETROIT — The fourth edition of “Once Around Belle Isle” festival will take place on Aug. 8, on the shores of Belle Isle State Park Beach.
The event will feature paddleboard and SUP Yoga classes, kayak classes, a “paddlefit” competition, canal tours, and a seven-mile race featuring a show by Lansing-based band, Joe Hertler and the Rainbow Seekers. Classes will be open to Race and Moosejaw Paddlerama ticket-holders. Registration for the Paddlerama is done on a first come first serve basis.
Attendees will also have a variety of cocktail, wine, and local food options available to enjoy, such as Tito’s Vodka, Cabresto Tequila, Chateau Grand Traverse Wine, Shimmy Shack, Tastebudz food truck, Drifter Coffee, and Time2Chill Gelato. Several limited-release and classic brews will also be available.
The “Once Around Bell Isle” race is catered to moderate to experienced paddlers, while Moosejaw Paddlerama is open to all paddler experience levels. It is not required to bring an SUP or Kayak to participate in the Paddlerama festivities.
