Belle Isle Conservatory Plans Annual Legacy Luncheon

1748

DETROIT — The Belle Isle Conservancy will host its Ninth annual Polish the Jewel, Belle Isle Legacy Luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sept. 25. Nearly 500 women are expected to gather at the historic Belle Isle Casino wearing their favorite jewels and finest chapeaus. WJBK anchor Monica Gayle serves as mistress of ceremonies with Sheila Cockrel as the luncheon’s chair and Cynthia Hempstead as chair emeritus.

In addition to enjoying a gourmet lunch, attendees have the opportunity to bid on silent auction items and network among some of metro Detroit’s most prominent women. This year’s silent auction items include: new and vintage jewelry, works of art, a weekend night stay at the Westin Book Cadillac and sports, dining, and entertainment packages.

For Polish the Jewel supporters at Benefactor levels, BIC has arranged a special VIP reception at The Madison Building’s picturesque rooftop terrace on from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Sept. 18. The Benefactor Party celebrates the Ninth annual Polish the Jewel Luncheon and includes wine, hors d’ oeuvres, and panoramic views of Detroit’s skyline.

Metro Detroit Milliner Gena Conti will showcase her original designs at the Benefactor Party, giving guests an opportunity to purchase the perfect chapeau or fascinator for the luncheon. Conti is donating 20 percent of the evening’s sales to BIC along with 10 percent of all hat purchases (via online or in-salon) for Polish the Jewel. More information can be found at genaconti.com or by calling 734-284-3417.
