BBK Names New Litigation Specialist

SOUTHFIELD — BBK, the international business advisory firm, added Patrick Dunleavy to the firm’s litigation support finance group as a managing director. Dunleavy comes to BBK from Dunleavy & Associates, a litigation support services and financial consulting firm, and will work closely with BBK clients on case strategy and litigation issues.

“Patrick is a highly-experienced consultant that will provide greater depth and expertise to BBK’s litigation support practice group,” said Barry Lefkowitz, managing director and litigation support group lead at BBK. “Additionally, his extensive knowledge of business valuations and forensic accounting will further strengthen our group’s financial capabilities to serve our growing client base.”

With more than 30 years of experience, Dunleavy has worked both in Michigan and nationally as a forensic examiner, mediator, and court-appointed expert witness and has had widespread involvement with testimonies in jury and non-jury Federal, Circuit, District, and Bankruptcy court proceedings. He has significant experience providing quantification of commercial economic damages, expert witness testimony, consulting and case strategy, fraud and forensic accounting services, business valuations, and financial consulting.

Prior to his work at Dunleavy & Associates, Dunleavy was partner at Virchow Krause & Company, Conway MacKenzie & Dunleavy, and O’Hara Dunleavy and Carter. Dunleavy graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and received his CPA from the state of Michigan. He is accredited in business valuation (ABV), as well as certified in financial forensics (CFF) by the AICPA. In addition, Dunleavy is a Certified Business Appraiser (CBA) through the Institute of Business Appraisers, a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) through the National Association of Valuation Analysts, and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) through the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
