Bavarian Inn Hosts Fundraiser to Benefit Veterans

The Bavarian Inn Restaurant in Frankenmuth is hosting a fundraising auction to support Michigan’s military veterans on Nov. 20 and  benefit the Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund, a Michigan-based charity.

The event will include a silent and live auction, hors d’oeuvres, and a cash bar. Auction prizes will include dinner packages, hotel stays, gift certificates, patriotic quilt and crafts, and much more – all donated by area businesses. In addition, a representative from the Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund will be on hand to present information and answer questions.

Auction goers will even have a chance to place bids on the Bavarian Inn’s very own mannequin mascot, “Fritz,” who’s been delighting restaurant guests for nearly 30 years, and is now eligible for retirement to a good home.

“The Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund, this year’s charity is helping vets who are waiting for claims to be settled and many have no income,” says the Bavarian Inn’s Kathy Walstad, chairperson for the auction.”It’s important to note that 97 cents of every dollar is going to our Michigan warriors to help them with their medical bills, living expenses, utility shut-off notices or whatever is needed to quickly help them once they return home.”

Tickets for the auction are $7 in advance, $10 at the door. Cash and check payments only are being accepted for auction admission and winning bids.
