Ben Maibach III, chief community officer of Barton Malow Co., was awarded the Horace H. Rackham Humanitarian Award from the Engineering Society of Detroit. Maibach previously served for 30 years as president and CEO of Barton Malow.

Barton Malow is a fourth-generation family-owned construction services company. Its projects include the Little Caesars Arena and Shinola Hotel.

The award is the society’s highest honor and has been awarded since 1975. It is given for outstanding humanitarian achievements.
