Bank of Birmingham Names New Senior Vice President

BIRMINGHAM — The Bank of Birmingham announced that it has added Rita Cavataio as a senior vice president and senior relationship manager.

Cavataio will assume responsibility for establishing and growing relationships with local businesses and entrepreneurs. Her new role will include providing solutions for business and personal financial needs to Bank of Birmingham’s growing list of commercial clients. According to Jenny Meier, executive vice president and chief revenue officer at the bank, Rita will maintain a portfolio of relationship accounts with specific concentration on opportunities within the medical and dental professions.

Prior to joining Bank of Birmingham, Cavataio served as a senior vice president and banking officer at Huntington National Bank. Managing a $50-million portfolio, consisting of commercial loans, she specialized in medical practices at Huntington. She also brings an array of financial services experience having served on management teams with Fifth Third Bank, Old Kent Bank and Michigan National Bank. Her knowledge and skills in advising and helping specialty medical practices will be an important addition to the Bank of Birmingham’s commercial business services line-up.

Cavataio received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan along with an MBA in Finance from the University of Detroit Mercy. In addition to her strong banking and financial services background, Rita is actively involved in a variety of community efforts including serving as treasurer on McLaren Macomb Medical Center’s Board of Directors. According to Meier, Rita’s sense of community and “giving back” with her skills, time and attention make her an excellent fit within Bank of Birmingham’s altruistic management culture.
