Baldwin Society Supporting Older Adults in Bingham Farms, the philanthropic arm of Baldwin House Senior Living, named Jim Schuster and Mort Meisner to their board of trustees.

Schuster is an attorney and Meisner is president of Mort Meisner Associates. The Baldwin Society works to support under-served older adults in need, focusing on outreach, research, and providing grants to Michigan’s low-income older adults.
Schuster practices elder law with a focus in long term care planning and nursing home Medicaid. He is the former chair of the elder law and advocacy section of the Michigan State Bar and only the fourth certified elder law attorney in Michigan.
He authored and published “The Patient Advocate’s Guide,” which is used by professionals and consumers to select a care home, is a frequent writer for the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and has contributed articles to the Michigan Bar Journal, Michigan Lawyer’s Weekly, and the Oakland County Bar Association, among others.

Meisner has used his experience as a major market news director, producer, and editor to develop talent in the news industry for more than 30 years. In addition to representing some of the country’s top news talent, Meisner provides public relations and crisis management services to companies and organizations throughout Michigan.
A graduate of the University of Detroit, he has experience working as a rock ‘n roll promoter while studying broadcast journalism and his subsequent career in news are detailed in his book, “Enough to be Dangerous.”
