Alan Whitman has been named chairman and CEO of Baker Tilly Virchow Krause LLP, an accounting, advisory, and professional services firm based in Chicago with offices in Southfield. Whitman was previously CEO-elect.
Whitman assumes overall management and strategic direction of the firm, as well as overseeing and managing the client service program, leading the development of leadership and management platforms, and directing recruiting and retention efforts.
Previously, Whitman was the managing partner for Baker Tilly’s Detroit office. He also led the international services practice for the firm. Prior to joining Baker Tilly, he served as a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Whitman, of Beverly Hills, and holds a bachelor’s in accounting from Indiana University.
