SOUTHFIELD — Accounting and advisory firm Baker Tilly continues to expand the resources and capabilities available to its clients with the recent addition of not-for-profit Director Laurie Horvath, CPA.

Horvath joins the firm as a director, specializing in not-for-profit auditing and accounting services, including financial statement and compliance auditing. She has more than 20 years of public accounting experience, including 12 years with a Big 4 firm with five in a national office role. Her understanding of the marketplace and experience working in various public accounting roles will be instrumental as Baker Tilly continues its commitment to support the growth and development of Michigan and its economy.

Prior to joining Baker Tilly, Horvath served as a senior manager and technical specialist at Doeren Mayhew in Troy. She is very active in the profession, serving on the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Not-for-Profit Expert Panel and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants Non-Profit Task Force.
Horvath is a frequent speaker and presenter on technical topics and served as an adjunct faculty member at Walsh College for more than 10 years. She is also very committed to the advancement of women in the accounting profession and sits on the AICPA Women’s Initiative Task Force and the MACPA Women’s Strategic Task Force. 


She is past president of the Junior League of Birmingham and is a graduate of the Leadership Oakland program. Horvath holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan, a Masters of Business Administration from Michigan State University, and an Executive Education Certificate from Harvard Business School.
