Baker Tilly Announces 7 Promotions in Southfield Office

SOUTHFIELD — Baker Tilly Virchow Krause LLP has announced seven promotions in its office in Southfield. They include: Yunis Altahami, Kelly McEvilly, Christine Ross, Karen Sergolia, Jennifer Lohrer-Elstone, Sara Rebman, and Carl Chalou. 

Altahami of Southfield has been promoted to senior manager from assurance manager and has been at Baker Tilly for five years. He is a member of AICPA, the Arab American Chamber of Commerce and The Detroit Economic Club Young Leaders Committee. Altahami has a bachelor’s and master’s in accounting from Michigan State University.

McEvilly of Farmington Hills has been promoted to senior manager from manager and has been with Baker Tilly for nearly 10 years. She has a bachelor’s  in marketing and a master’s degree in accountancy from Walsh College. She is a member of the AICPA and the MICPA.

Ross of Lyon Township has been promoted to senior manager from manager and has been with Baker Tilly for 10 years. She has a bachelor’s in accountancy from Walsh College and is a member of the AICPA, MACPA and the Michigan Women’s Tax Association. 

Sergolia of Beverly Hills has been promoted to senior manager from manager. She has been with Baker Tilly for nearly 15 years and has a bachelor’s in accountancy from Walsh College.

Rebman of Berkley has been promoted to manager from senior accountant. She has worked at Baker Tilly for nearly five years and has a bachelor’s and master’s in accounting from Michigan State University. She is a member of MACPA, the Detroit Economic Club Young Leaders, Inform and the Metro Detroit Chapter of UN Women.

Lohrer-Elstone has been promoted to manager from senior accountant. She has been with Baker Tilly for nearly five years and has a bachelor’s in music performance from Eastern Michigan University and master’s in music performance from the University of Michigan; and a master’s degree in accounting from Eastern Michigan University. She is a member of AICPA, MICPA and MNA and lives in Grosse Pointe.

Chalou of Royal Oak has been promoted to senior consultant from staff consultant. He has a bachelor’s in supply chain management from Michigan State University and has been with Baker Tilly for nearly two years.
