ALLEN PARK — Baker College of Allen Park board of regents has appointed Kristine L. Barann, CPA, as its new president beginning in September.

Barann has more than 25 years of financial, consultant, and managerial experience across multiple industries and is currently Baker College of Allen Park’s vice president of finance, a position she’s held for three years.

She will succeed Aaron J. Maike, who has accepted the position of president of Baker College in Owosso.

“Kris’ professional and educational experience has prepared her well to take the reins of the 3,800-student Allen Park campus,” said F. James Cummins, Baker College system president. “She has experienced the college as an instructor, a member of its board of regents and an administrator. This, combined with her extensive involvement with a variety of corporate and government entities and her positive energy, will enable her to continue Baker College’s success in achieving its single, focused goal of preparing others for meaningful careers.”

Prior to joining Baker College in 2010, Barann was involved with the campus as adjunct professor of accounting and a member of its board of regents from 2005 to 2010.

She has also worked as business manager of the Trenton Public Schools, finance director for the City of Allen Park and manager at Plante & Moran LLC.

Barann, of Allen Park, graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor’s in accounting. She also has earned her CPA certificate.
