SOUTHFIELD — For all of March, Bagger Dave’s Burger Tavern seeks to help more than 4,500 Michigan families associated with the Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan through their Hoops for Hope campaign.

“The funds raised through Hoops for Hope can make all the difference in the world to a family going through this,” says Heidi Grix, president of the children’s foundation. Last year, Bagger Dave’s raised about $6,000 and hopes to surpass that number this year.

With a donation of at least $1, Bagger Dave’s guests can purchase a paper basketball pinup, with the option to write a personal message, which will be displayed in the taverns.

The funds raised will help families affected by leukemia, lymphoma, and other blood disorders, covering the costs of travel to a treatment center, a family’s lodging for one month, prescriptions, and a wig.

“We encourage everyone to join us for the Madness this basketball season and offer support to the Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan,” says Michael Ansley, president and CEO of Bagger Dave’s.

Participating taverns include Ann Arbor, Berkley, Birch Run, Bloomfield Township, Brighton, Canton, Cascade Township, Detroit, East Lansing, Grand Blanc, Grand Rapids, Grandville, Holland, Novi, Shelby Township, Traverse City, and Woodhaven.
