SOUTHFIELD – Southfield-based Farbman Group, a leading full-service real estate company that manages the Fisher Building and New Center One in Detroit, is hosting “Dine & Drive in the D” on Friday, June 1, 2012 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This will be the second time this spring Farbman Group has organized this free, open to the public, food truck rally event.

Andrew V. Farbman, CEO of Farbman Group, made the announcement.

The public is invited to visit Third Street between Lothrop Road and West Grand Boulevard in Detroit to taste the wide range of cuisine from the area’s food trucks. Adding to the event, there will be a DJ and live music by the local Detroit Bucket Drummers. Admission to the event is free and all tips to participating vendors will be donated to local charities.

Participating food trucks include Treat Dreams, Jacques’ Tacos, El Guapo Fresh Mexican Grill, Frank’s Anatra, Concrete Cuisine, Ned’s TravelBurger, The People’s Pierogi Collective, Mac Shack, Green Zebra, and Chow Catering.

“With the enormous success of metro Detroit’s largest and longest first food truck rally on April 20, we felt compelled to bring this trend back to the city as soon as possible,” said Farbman. “We are proud to sponsor these growing businesses that help to enrich and encourage the city’s small business community.”

The event is hosted in partnership with the Michigan Mobile Food Vendors Association, a nonprofit association representing food trucks throughout Michigan. The MMFVA is dedicated to serving the needs of the mobile food service industry; enhancing and improving its growth and development; and assisting and educating its members in the successful operations of their businesses.
