Attorney Sydney M. Jackson has joined Plunkett Cooney as a member of its Bloomfield Hills office.

Jackson, who is a member of the firm’s Banking, Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Law, Real Estate Litigation and Title Insurance, and Business Transactions and Planning practice groups, focuses her practice in the areas of banking and finance law, real estate law and business transactions.

Jackson represents financial institutions and commercial clients in contract disputes, fund recovery efforts and landlord-tenant matters. She also counsels her clients on the appointment of receivers with respect to secured property, and she advises and represents them in the sale and purchase of real property.

A member of the State Bar of Michigan, as well as the Wolverine and American bar associations, Jackson recently graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. She earned her undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, in 2019 from the University of Michigan – Ross School of Business.

The members of Plunkett Cooney’s Banking, Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Practice Group have represented banks, savings and loan associations, mortgage companies, credit unions, finance companies and servicers for over 25 years.

Plunkett Cooney’s Business Transactions and Planning Practice Group members represent a variety of clients with issues arising during each phase of the business lifecycle, including start up, growth, change in strategic goals, change in control and wind downs.

The members of the firm’s Real Estate Litigation and Title Insurance Law Practice Group regularly represent lenders, national mortgage loan servicers, property owners and others in banking, bankruptcy and construction related litigation, as well as parties involved in escrow disputes involving the phishing and hacking of electronic mail and faxes as well as other closing-related matters.
