Attorney Named to Women’s Divorce Resource Center Board

BLOOMFIELD HILLS —  Family law attorney and mediator Alisa Peskin-Shepherd has been named to the board of the Women’s Divorce Resource Center.

Peskin-Shepherd of Bloomfield Hills-based Transitions Legal, has more than two decades of experience as a family, divorce and custody attorney, mediator and collaborative divorce practitioner. A statewide mediator, Peskin-Shepherd is trained in a wide variety of legal focuses that aid her work with families. She has acted as a guardian-ad-litem, protecting the interests of children within the legal system, and has training in domestic violence through the State Bar of Michigan Open Justice Commission. She speaks widely and leads workshops on topics related to divorce, counseling, and mediation.

Peskin-Shephered, of Birmingham, is a graduate of the University of Michigan and of Case Western Reserve University Law School

Founded in 2012 by Vicki McLellan and Rebecca Abel, the nonprofit Women’s Divorce Resource Center was born out of what its founders saw as a need to help educate women in Southeast Michigan. The organization offers resources and support for all matters a woman may face going through divorce.
