Detroit Head Start Network, compromised of 10 local provider agencies and funders, is filling over 1,000 spots in its 60 Detroit-based facilities. Families with children can apply for individual educational plans, dental and prenatal support, and healthy snacks and meals.
The organization recently launched a website that acts as a resource center for parents looking for eligibility requirements, center locations, and contact information. Interested individuals can schedule an appointment through the inquiry form on the site.
More than 3,000 families use the organization for education-based resources and health support. Enrollment is year round but the organization says summer applications have a higher acceptance rate.
The organization is federally funded and offers around $7,000 to each family on average after enrollment.
