DETROIT —The 11th Annual Paul W. Smith Golf Classic will kick off the next decade of supporting Detroit youth on Aug. 11 at the Detroit Golf Club.
After a record-breaking 10th annual outing last year, the event, which has raised more than $4 million to date, is considered one of the most successful of its kind in Michigan. The golf event is the largest fundraiser for Detroit PAL with funds raised supporting a variety of programs.
Detroit PAL is a nonprofit organization positively impacting the lives of more than 11,000 children each year through athletic, academic and leadership development programs that train volunteer coaches and create safe places for kids to play.
Since the event’s inception in 2004, Detroit PAL has increased the number of youth it has been able to serve from 8,000 to more than 11,000 and increased the number of girls participating in a Detroit PAL program.
The event’s success is attributable to the personal commitment and continuous support of event Chairman Smith, host of The Paul W. Smith Show on 760 WJR.
A limited number of sponsorship opportunities are still available. For more information, visit paulwsmithgolf.com.
