NorthStar Care Community (NSCC), a nonprofit hospice agency based in Ann Arbor, has hired Lora Parisien as its marketing and communications manager.

In her new role, she will be responsible for managing the implementation of internal and external communications, promotions, new product and service communications, advertising, website development, brand image and awareness, and public and media relations for NSCC, which includes Hospice of Michigan and Arbor Hospice.

“Lora brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will help effectively communicate, educate and promote palliative care and hospice philosophies with our patients and their families, as well as community members throughout the state of Michigan,” says Tracey Pierce, director of marketing and communications at NSCC.

Prior to her new role, Parisien worked as a freelance communications and marketing specialist. She has also led communications efforts for the United States Peace Corps and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.

She earned her bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University and studied Arabic at the Bourguiba Institute of Modern Languages in Tunisia.
