Ann Arbor-based Cybersecurity Provider Appoints New VP of Sales

Blumira, a leading cybersecurity provider of automated threat detection and response technology in Ann Arbor, has announced the appointment of Brian Penney to vice president of sales.

Penney, formerly vice president of sales at Songclip, will help enhance Blumira’s market strategy and accelerate revenue growth in existing and new markets with focus on integrity.

With more than a decade of substantial industry experience, Penney has successfully led sales representatives, account managers, and business development teams to improve processes, streamline sales cycles, and challenge clients to achieve and exceed their business goals.

In his role, Penney will enable Blumira to expand customer-centricity and IT channel growth, contributing to Blumira’s core mission to bring effective and affordable security solutions to small and mid-size businesses. His experience in sales involves director-level roles at, Synergis Software, and, with a proven track record of outperforming quotas, growing new business, generating pipeline growth, and leveraging strong relationships to meet and exceed customer needs.

Prior to joining Blumira, Penney led commercial market strategy for Songclip, the first social music API with a patented technology solution for integrating popular licensed music as a feature in social apps, helping drive more than 670 percent sales growth in 2021.
