BIRMINGHAM — Amherst Partners LLC has added Daniel Scouler, left, as a director of business development in its restructuring and turnaround advisory practice, as well as adding analyst Arjuna Murthy.
Scouler has more than 10 years of experience specializing in the corporate restructuring and turnaround industry, with a focus on identifying solutions for middle-market companies facing financial challenges. He has more than 15 years of marketing and sales experience in the financial services industry, and actively works with financial institutions, law firms, and private equity investors to identify situations that would benefit from Amherst’s service offering
Prior to joining Amherst, Scouler was a principal at Scouler & Co., a national provider of restructuring and turnaround advisory services. In this position, he participated on client service teams for a number of the firm’s engagements and, over time, moved to head the sales and marketing function where he built a widely-recognized brand across multiple geographic markets. Prior to joining Scouler & Co., Scouler worked as senior vice president at Morgan Stanley and Wachovia Securities. He is a graduate of Dickinson College, in Carlisle, Pa., where he received a bachelor’s in political science.
Murthy specializes in providing transactional assistance to owners of closely-held businesses, including sell-side, buy-side and cross-border financial advisory services, in addition to participating in the preparation of strategic assessments and fairness opinions. Murthy also supports Amherst’s investment banking and restructuring clients by providing financial analysis, business valuation, due diligence, industry research, and corporate finance-related services.
Prior to joining Amherst, Murthy served as a senior associate in the corporate banking division of PNC Financial Services Group Inc. He has advisory experience across a broad range of industries including manufacturing, industrial products, automotive, and gaming. Murthy graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor’s in finance.
