The Alzheimer’s Association – Greater Michigan Chapter, a nonprofit that serves 138,000 individuals and their families with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia, will host its 31st annual Chocolate Jubilee fundraiser Oct. 24 at MGM Grand Detroit.

Aimed at raising funds and awareness, the event will begin with an exclusive Pre-Glow, followed by Dinner, live music by Mel Ball and Colours, dancing, a New Year’s Eve countdown and extensive tastings from 17 chocolate exhibitors.

The program will include remarks highlighting the devastation of the disease from John Wood, of Grosse Pointe Park, who was diagnosed last year with young onset Alzheimer’s at the age of 46. Wood, a visual artist, will share the story of his journey, including how he was diagnosed and what that has meant for his wife and young child, in a speech.
