GAYLORD — AlpineWEB and its subsidiary SunFrog Shirts, based in Gaylord were recently selected from among 5,500 companies to receive the Michigan Small Business Development Center’s Best Small Business Award during ceremonies held in Lansing.
The Best Small Business Award is presented annually to companies based on their success in creating jobs, increasing sales and overall business strategies. AlpineWEB and SunFrog Shirts were among the 12 recipients chosen for this year’s award from the thousands of candidates based throughout the state.
In each of the past two years, SunFrog Shirts doubled staff and revenue through the sale of its extensive custom T-shirt and apparel line to an affiliate network and international customer base stretching across 200 separate countries.
The company most recently achieved a 120 percent growth in year-to-year revenues through the sale of its custom apparel via its website (SunFrogShirts.com) and a broad network of domestic and international online sales affiliates. Based on the rising demand for the company’s extensive product line worldwide, SunFrog Shirts is also expanding operations with a new facility that will significantly increase the ability to market its entire stock of more than 10,000 existing T-shirt designs created with the input of thousands of artists worldwide.
