FERNDALE— Allied Printing Co. Inc., received recognition for seven entries at the recent Detroit Club of Printing House Craftsmen’s 24th Annual Gallery of Superb Printing Awards Dinner. The Ferndale-based printer also received the coveted People’s Choice Award for its entry in the Large Offset Press, Perfect Bound Booklet category. The People’s Choice Award was voted on by all attendees of the awards dinner.

In total, Allied earned six Large Offset Press awards, including four gold for Saddle and Perfect Bound Book entries, as well as Presentation Kit, a silver award for Presentation Folder and bronze recognition in the Brochure category. Allied also earned silver recognition in the Mid-Size Offset Press for a Presentation Folder.

“It’s always an honor to receive recognition from industry peers.” said Dave Bader, president of Allied Printing. “We’re absolutely thrilled to be able to bring home the People’s Choice Award and to have seven of our entries receive formal recognition. It’s a real testament to our staff’s attention to detail and the quality of work they produce.”

Each of Allied’s gold awards are eligible for submission to the International Gallery Competition, held each October. Allied received an international gold award in 2012 for its Combination Process entry.

The Gallery of Superb Printing Competition is held annually to recognize the excellence of Michigan’s finest craftsmen in the printing industry. Entries are judged on registration, ink coverage, intensity of colors, dot structure, quality of binding and finishing, overall visual appearance and overall difficulty.

The Detroit Club of Printing House Craftsmen is a local chapter of the International Association of Printing House Craftsmen, The Graphic Professionals Resource Network, which promotes the sharing of knowledge within the graphic arts community and celebrates excellence in printing.
