DETROIT – Airstream, manufacturer of the iconic “silver bullet” travel trailer and one of the most recognized RV brands in the world, announced Monday the company’s expansion into Metro Detroit.

Growing customer interest for Airstream in this market — due in large part to Detroit’s affinity for well manufactured vehicles made in America — prompted the company to partner with National RV and make Airstreams available in this previously underrepresented region of the country. The dealership will be in Belleville.

Tom Selvius, owner of National RV, saw the opportunity to provide his customers with more value and felt Airstream represented the highest quality RV lifestyle. Having much success with RV brands over the years, National RV knows what customers are looking for in a purchase and believe that Airstream’s rich history and quality reputation made it an appealing option.

“As a staple of Americana, its quality is unmatched in the marketplace and we are pleased to welcome Airstream to Detroit,” said Selvius. “It’s an honor to have Airstream as part of our team and represent the oldest travel trailer in North America.”

Selvius said the premier Airstream dealership will expose a whole new audience to the brand known for its quality, functional design and durability.

“National RV is a strong and experienced operation perfectly positioned to serve customers and allow them easy access to outdoor adventure,” said Bob Wheeler, president and CEO of Airstream. “We see great synergies here and are excited to be represented in the Motor City.”
