SEATTLE— Detroit has become Alaska Airlines’ 77th nonstop destination out of Seattle.

“Expanding our network to connect the Seattle area to Detroit’s industry and culture will benefit our business and leisure customers alike,” said Joe Sprague, Alaska Airlines’ senior vice president of communications and external relations. “Travelers with a flair for adventure will also enjoy the new route, with the opportunity to explore Motown and scenic Michigan, which is surrounded by several of the majestic Great Lakes.”

One-way introductory fares start as low as $149. Tickets must be purchased by Monday, Sept. 8, for travel by Nov. 19.

“I am delighted to welcome Alaska Airlines to Detroit Metropolitan Airport,” said Thomas Naughton, CEO of Detroit Metropolitan Airport. “Seattle is a key destination for our customers flying to the Pacific Northwest and beyond; so we intend to do whatever we can to make Alaska Airlines feel right at home in Detroit!”
